Returns & Refunds Policy

Because BuffaloAlarm.com primarily connects you with trusted retailers, return policies are primarily governed by the retail partner from whom you purchased. This page outlines general return guidelines and our commitment to your satisfaction.
1. Retailer Return Policies
Products purchased through BuffaloAlarm.com affiliate links are subject to the return and refund policies of the retailer processing your order (Amazon, Ring, Arlo, SimpliSafe, Reolink, etc.). Most major retailers offer:
- 30-Day Return Window: Unopened products in original packaging typically eligible for full refund
- Defective Product Returns: Most manufacturers honor warranty exchanges within 12-24 months of purchase
- Opened Product Returns: Some retailers accept returns of opened products within 14-30 days with restocking fees
2. Buffalo Alarm Installation Services
For local installation services booked through Buffalo Alarm:
- Satisfaction Guarantee: If you are not satisfied with the quality of our installation work, contact us within 7 days and we will return to resolve the issue at no additional charge.
- Equipment Compatibility: We verify equipment compatibility during your consultation. If equipment you purchased independently is incompatible with your setup, we will advise on alternatives but cannot accept returns of third-party products.
- Cancellations: Installation appointments cancelled with less than 24 hours notice may incur a $50 cancellation fee. Cancellations with more than 24 hours notice are fully refundable.
3. Defective or Damaged Products
If you receive a defective or damaged product, contact the retailer directly using your order confirmation. Most manufacturers (Ring, Arlo, SimpliSafe, Reolink, Eufy) offer direct warranty support and will ship replacement units with prepaid return labels.
For installation customers: if we discover a product is defective during your installation appointment, we will document the issue, help you initiate the manufacturer warranty claim, and reschedule your installation at no additional cost once the replacement arrives.
4. How to Initiate a Return
- Locate your original order confirmation email from the retailer
- Visit the retailer's website and navigate to "Order History" or "My Orders"
- Select the item and follow the retailer's return process
- Print the prepaid return label (if available) or follow provided return instructions
- Package the item in its original packaging with all accessories included
Buffalo Alarm does not process returns directly. We are an affiliate and informational platform, not a direct retailer.
5. Non-Returnable Items
The following items are generally non-returnable through most retailers once opened or installed:
- Subscription plans and monitoring services (SimpliSafe, Ring Protect, Arlo Secure)
- Downloadable software, activation codes, and digital licenses
- Custom-configured or special-order equipment
- Products with evidence of physical damage from improper installation
